So this is me 3 months in.  I’ve lost just under 2 stone.  Don’t particularly see much difference myself but hopefully in another 3 months it’s a bit more pronounced!

Lost Motivation

I’m ashamed to say that in just over 6 weeks I’ve completely lost all motivation; for blogging.

I’ve kept up with my 3 sessions a week at the gym, barring a couple setbacks and I’m still losing weight, weighing in now at around 24 stone 9 lbs.

I’m trying to keep up the motivation for writing this blog but having set out with no intention to get readers, I find that the fact I have very little gives me reason to not bother posting. After all I track my weight and sessions separately, the latter of which is tweeted automatically, so why bother sitting down and “blogging” it?

So I’m going to make a point to try and update this blog more often, starting with actually getting some measurements and photos up this weekend. That’s the plan attest.

Weigh In – Week 5 and Week 6

I didn’t post my weigh in from last two weeks but better late than never right?!  Week 5 and I weighed in at 25 st 4 lbs and Week 6 I weighed in at 25 st exactly.  That’s a total loss of 1 st and 6 lbs.

Running (well…. jogging!)

So I’ve started to mix in a little light running with my sessions at the gym now.  I started last week and did a total of 35 minutes which started off with a 5 minute walk and then went into a 5 minute jog, then walk, then jog, then walk, then jog, then cooldown.  So 15 minutes of jogging in total and I was pouring of sweat but feeling pretty good at the end of it.

 

That was until the next morning when I walked down my stairs and almost fell over!  Turns out you really should stretch before and after jogging, especially when your legs are carrying my weight!  Did another session yesterday and made sure to stretch before and after and whilst I’m still a little achy now, my legs are in far better shape than they were the last week.

 

I’ll probably stick with the 5 minutes on 5 minutes off routine for the next couple weeks and mix it in with the Cross Trainer as I can’t watch my TV Shows whilst running!!  I’ll do 1 run per week for now and try to end up with 2 runs and 1 Cross Trainer afterwards.

Lost Motivation

The title of this post is a little misleading.  I have lost motivation, not for the gym but for this site.

 

I find when I’m done at the gym I’m too tired to get online and make a post and life in general gets in the way on a weekend when I’d usually post the weeks results.  As I’m still very much behind this site and really do want a means to track my progress I’m just going to limit my posts to those I consider essential and the first result of this is I’ll be making no more Gym Session posts.

 

The reason for this being I don’t want to be duplicating information that is already available and in the case of these not only do my sessions track via my Endomondo account but they are also posted on twitter automatically.  That makes my posts on here pointless and time wasting so they’re being cut.

 

I’ll try to keep up with the blog a little more and still intend on posting my weight loss/gain weekly and photos/measurements 8 weekly.

 

Four weeks in….

I’ve now done four weeks at the gym, doing 3 sessions each week (other than the first week when I did 4 sessions).

 

I can’t say I’ve seen any massive changes but what I have noticed is my recovery speed has gone up tremendously.  What would usually leave me panting for minutes is now seconds.  I aim to get to the point where I’m not panting at all going up the stairs but the small things all add up.  Not found any benefits with my sleeping habits and still struggle to get my backside out of bed in the morning but maybe that’s just because I’m lazy!!

 

2 more weeks before I do the photo’s and measurements again, am quite excited to see what I find (already feel my belt getting looser so something is changing).
